Ante-Natal Clinics / Paediatric Surveillance & Childhood Immunisation Clinics
The Midwife provides care for ante-natal and Post-Natal patients both at home and at the surgery.
Chronic Disease Clinics
The Practice Nurse sees patients at regular intervals for follow up of long standing conditions, such as Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy & Blood Pressure. The Nurse will be supervised by the doctors who are always aware of the progress of your condition.
This is a service offered to monitor patients taking Warfarin. Our main clinic is held on a Thursday morning.
Vasectomies are performed by Dr Christopher Hyde, who is a member of the British Association of Non Scalpel Vasectomies (BANSV). He has been trained by Dr Laurel Spooner, an accredited GP trainer, has trained over 80 GPs from all parts of the UK and Eire in No-Scalpel Vasectomy , which is now advocated by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Family Planning Association as the preferred method.

A wide range of minor operations, for example, removal of warts, cysts and in-growing toenails can be undertaken in the surgery by the doctors. Please make an appointment with the doctor to discuss your problem.
Family Planning advice is available from the doctors and Nurse Specialist. We provide a full contraceptive service, including coil and cap fittings.
Cervical Smear Tests
Cervical Smear Tests are carried out by the Practice Nurses and some of the GP's, you will be invited by letter when your test is due. You will also be informed by letter of your result.
Immunisation & Vaccination
We like to be sure that all adults are fully vaccinated against Tetanus & Polio
Travel Advice & Immunisations
Our Practice Nurses offer a comprehensive travel advice service, offering guidance about travel and advice about which immunisations are required/recommended for the places you plan to visit. Please make an appointment with the receptionist, asking for one of our pre-travel questionnaires, and at the same time, check how much you are likely to be charged as the NHS provides some, but not all, vaccinations for people travelling abroad.
You should always book the appointment between 4 and 8 weeks in advance, wherever possible.
Flu Vaccinations Flu
Flu Vaccinations Flu and pneumonia vaccinations are available for the elderly and certain other groups of people each year around early October. Please ask at reception if you would like an appointment.
Travel Vaccination fees
The vaccines listed below are not funded by the NHS for travel abroad, therefore we have to make the following charges:

Our fees include the cost of the drug including carriage and VAT, a private prescription, practice nurse time and a small administration charge. Payment is required in advance of administration – cheques should be made payable to Stuart House Surgery.
Non NHS Services
The NHS does not pay for some of the services we provide. These include private sick notes, insurance forms, holiday cancellation forms, medical reports, fitness to travel certificates, private prescriptions, passport signing and some vaccination services.
